Packing List

Notes, News, & Reviews

Recently, Anglo American (owners and operators of Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay, Alaska) launched a new advertising campaign with lots of wonderful images and statements that are, in truth, hard to swallow - as difficult as the quality of their water they celebrate in the above ad. While Anglo promotes “Good Mining, Good Water, Good Manners,” the following news story (link) underscores how their Pebble Mine development is in fact not living up to those ideals.

If this is their idea of good behavior, they can take those claims elsewhere and keep them out of Bristol Bay, where the water is better than “good,” it is pristine. With that in mind, as concerned citizens/anglers watching the events unfolding in Bristol Bay, please print off this ad, also print off this news story, and fax the two into the offices of Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski urging them not to take Anglo or Pebble’s promises at their word.
