A true innovation in permit flies perhaps equal to Del Brown's Merkin. From the 26th of April 2009 until the 2nd of June 2011 anglers in Cuba using the Avalon Fly hooked 306 permits hooked and landed 212. One permit took the rod and reel and 93 broke leader tippet or backing. There were only 7 permit caught with another fly pattern.
