Coffee and Antelope: A Familiar Essay 15:46 – Angling’s senior man of letters, Gordon Wickstrom, reads from a recent edition of his (now online) gazette, The Bouldercreek Angler, in which he recounts his lifelong addiction to a great cup of Joe. From the early milky tonic of his Swedish grandmother, to the metallic mud of his father’s bakery, to the rich tin-cup brews of endless hunting and fishing camps, Gordon's tale reaches a caffeinated crescendo recounting one such antelope hunting trip in particular, on the high prairie of Wyoming where the speed sheep stayed elusive but our coffee bean bard found “liquid life itself” in the arabic ambrosia of his hunting partner Jim Milburn.
