Destination Overview

Wild On The Fly has teamed up with King William Adventures for an exclusive exploratory trip to the Upper Essequibo River near the Apoteri Village in Guyana. King William Adventures KWA has designated 10 ponds exclusively for fly fishing only. Only eight anglers per week are at the Apoteri camp. With that in mind they have limited these special exclusive ponds limited to 50 anglers per year!

The history behind Apoteri originates from the Arawak peoples, an indigenous tribe of the Caribbean, and their naming of a particular type of tree. First island lodge, upper Essequibo river is the 3rd largest in South America. Guyana, only county in the Amazon that the native language is English. Land of the Giant Arapaima all of you major Amazon species here in on watershed.

Low impact. Our range is 40 miles and we have 15+ lagoons off the Essequibo to fish. A strict catch and release is observed here as we are fishing in a conservation zone.

Join an exclusive group of intrepid anglers. Come and catch a giant Arapaima up to 500 pounds.
